Gleann Shìldeag’s new rainforest Horizontal rain didn’t put off the efforts of local school children and the wider community to kick off a drive to plant half a million trees in Strathcarron. In time, these trees will develop into a new rainforest, made up of Scots pine, birch, willow, oak, aspen, alder, hazel and juniper, all grown from local seeds. The site is part of the Glen Torridon Partnership Project, one of ASR’s Focus Projects, which is led by Woodland Trust. > Read more
