This project aims to work with landowners and communities in the Knapdale area to develop and deliver landscape-scale restoration, starting with the control of Rhododendron ponticum.  

The West Cowal Habitat Restoration Project area includes the peninsulas of Kilfinan and Colintraive, which encapsulate the Kyles of Bute National Scenic Area and Isle of Bute.

The Loch Arkaig catchment, in Lochaber, West Highlands, is home to important remnants of ancient Caledonian pinewood, which in this setting is even more special, as it’s also a part of Scotland’s rainforest.

Led by RSPB Scotland, this project aims to enhance and restore important areas of rainforest on the Morvern peninsula, one of the most defensible and practical areas in Scotland for large scale rhododendron eradication.
