Identifying the knowledge gaps

Restoring Scotland’s rainforest is complex, and there’s still so much we don’t know. To focus effort where it counts, we’ve worked with expert conservation practitioners across the UK to identify and rank the biggest knowledge gaps.

Our prioritisation process highlights questions that will guide:

  • Where restoration should happen

  • How to manage and monitor rainforest effectively

  • How to measure success and resilience over time.

Explore the results to find inspiration for research proposals, funding bids, or student projects. These priorities will evolve as new findings emerge, so check back for updates.
