Rainforest research working group
The Rainforest Research Working Group is the hub for research within the Alliance for Scotland’s Rainforest. We bring together scientists, practitioners, and partners to share knowledge, identify gaps, and develop projects that make a real difference for rainforest restoration.
What we do
Keep track of research happening across Scotland and the wider UK rainforest network.
Identify and prioritise the most pressing research questions.
Facilitate collaboration and support funding bids for high-impact projects.
Ensure research findings reach the right people in an accessible way.
Who should join?
We’re looking for active researchers from any discipline with an interest in temperate rainforest restoration and management. Whether your expertise lies in ecology, climate science, social research, economics, technology, or another field, your contribution will really help fill critical knowledge gaps.
Membership is flexible - you can get involved in ways that suit your capacity and expertise:
Join regularly to help set priorities and co-develop research proposals.
Contribute when a topic aligns with your skills or interests
Offer specialist advice or peer review to strengthen projects and ensure quality.
This is a space for collaboration and action, not just discussion. If you’re ready to bring ideas, data, or research capacity to the table, we want to hear from you.
